Before its spectacular finale, the “Gimp” piano was treated (or mistreated?) with a set of flannels to bring out its inner warmth. The results are something quite magical. Apply some “splosh” to add even more drama!

Warm and beautiful, at home sounding piano
It has such a warmth in the sound itself. With this texture, I have layered three available patches 4006/R88/U67 and played them together, then it gives such wonderful layers of sound! It is a lot of fun to play with!
A wonderful last breath
Right before its destruction, it left us a small bit of its character, something that will be with us forever. This little package contains 3 single patches, featuring a different microphone each, just like The Gimp piano. In a similar fashion, I have mixed feelings about the 4006 because it is too noisy for my taste. The other two mics though are fantastic, and this time I prefer the U67 more.
The GUI is very similar to what Christian instruments usually offer and I love it - except the fact that it should be a little darker with less contrast because the white knobs blend too much with it.
If you like 'The Gimp' piano, you'll love it with flannel on.
Whilst a lot of the character of 'The Gimp' is taken away from the use of flannel on the strings, what it's doing is bringing out a completely different character, adding a whole other side to the piano. Now the soft inner voice of the instrument is front and centre and the result is marvellous.
Great warm piano...
Unorthodox felting techniques are always interesting to hear, and this one turned out really well. The flannel gives the piano a very warm and muted sound that's positively lovely. Clear and simple GUI as well. All in all a very solid sounding instrument. Fantastic work here!
Beautiful Jazzy sound but clicking is an issue
I think the actual sound of this piano is really beautiful. The high end is clear and punchy and the lows are silky and soft. Its very organic sounding with the release triggers and sounds very worn and old fashioned which is great. However as others noted. There is a very noticeable click on some of the release triggers which is pretty much a deal breaker for me. Its such a shame cause i actually really love the jazzy old fashioned sound of this. Its nice to have these different mic options. Im sure christian has bigger fish to fry than returning to this instrument and fixing it up but it would be really cool if someone else wanted to. Its a really unique and old fashioned sound
