The story

A few years ago, my wife and I visited a music store about to definitely close. After looking at every Telecaster in the store, I heard my wife said « this one looks great! ». It was indeed a beautiful instrument, and the microphone set-up was quite unusual (one simple-coil and one double-coil), so I had to hear it in action. It sounded as good as it looked: a warm and beautifully clean tone. Love at first hear!

Moral of the story: always listen to your wife.

I sampled my G&L ASAT Classic into 5 main patches : DI, Clean, Swarm, Swell and Pad. DI and Clean have 3 round robins. Swarm is made with 4 aleatoric recordings of the same note. Swell and Pad are created from the original recordings through various effects and reverbs, and are modwheel sensitive. I designed several additional patches, like the DI and Clean Wide : one round robin in the center, one in left, one in right.

  • Not what I expected

This is not what I expected, but I mean that in a good way. Thank you once again for creating something totally unique.

  • Absolute stunner of a guitar instrument!

This is an instrument and set of patches that you should have to pay for, because it's amazing that Fred has offered up such a wonderfully sampled guitar library. The ASAT SWARM patch is just so good for guitar textures and movement, and the DI patch sounds so well recorded! Thank you for sharing this one with us all Fred!

  • Awesome Ambient Guitars

As a Guitarist I absolutely love the ambient soundscapes. They are so alive and enveloping and Realistic. Im definitely gonna use these to sit in the background of real ambient guitar solo melodies. The great thing about patches like this is that instead of doing real ambient guitar swells on a real guitar, you can easily construct chords with this that would be difficult or impossible to play on guitar, its also in midi so you could always edit it which im a big fan of. You could always throw a couple real recorded notes in there for realism. As i guitarist even though the melodic patches sound pretty good, i would never use them. The tone is good but they sound keyboard like which is pretty much next to impossible to not have solo guitar notes sound keyboard like in sampling. This is gonna be one of my go to ambient patches on the site

Stunned with beautiful vibrations. When you press the keys for long, it will change the tone. This will be one of my favorite pad!!
