SOLYARIS MUSIC (Giorgio Robino)’s Reviews

  • Mesmerizing Swarms of Dulcimer Textures

Extraordinary! Hunter Rogerson has done an exceptional job, not only in technical terms (utilizing numerous Kontakt sample engine features) but also in terms of realizing the concept behind a sampled instrument. I particularly appreciate the swarms, shimmering effects, and looped tremolos patches, which seamlessly transport the listener into the ethereal realms of ambient music.

Hunter's physical presence even brings to mind Alio Die (Stefano Musso), whose music features many "similar" sounds created with a zither instrument.

While the GUI aligns with the concept, reminiscent of Alio Die's cover arts, it may seem a bit cluttered to me. Nevertheless, it is undeniably well-executed.

In conclusion, this remarkable work caters to ambient music and experimental electro-acoustic composers. To draw a metaphor, those who appreciate Tarkovsky's films will find the deployment of this instrument (also featured in Volume II on Pianobook) truly captivating.

    This is a masterpiece!
