Another quiet and delicate textured felt piano
I am a big fan of piano, especially felt piano!! Felt piano instantly creates a magical world of emotion. This Summer felt has a quiet and warm texture sound. It would be also nice to layer this with other piano to add a texture.
Beautiful tone but not very dynamic
I remember loving the tone of this one when i first found pianobook and i still do. Its so warm, mellow and emotional. Sadly its not very dynamic, i dont think this mattered to me when i first found pianobook but now a year later i realize how important it is to me. This should still be great for a passage that you dont need to be dynamic. The panning also seems to be a tiny bit inconsistent but its not very noticeable. Overall i really love this sound, i just wish it went through one more round of beta testing or a couple more dynamic layers
Pensive and reflective
This piano is pensive, reflective, and solemn, all wrapped up in felted quietude. The release triggers are a bit loud for my taste, so I felt I needed to dive into kontakt and attenuate them a bit. I can understand why the monolith format is attractive and advantageous when creating libraries with a lot of samples but this library aptly demonstrates one of the worst disadvantages of that methodology. I like piano samples that are much more tightly edited on the attacks. This library feels laggy to me. When I've encountered this in other libraries I've really liked, I've invested the time to go in and trim the samples tighter. However, the endless zooming and scrolling through the single monolith recording makes that job far more difficult. So, barring the inclusion of a "sample start time" knob being included in the GUI which would allow me to easily decrease the sample start time, I can't give this library high marks for playability. Even so, it's a lovely library and worth trying if you're in need of a felt piano.
Lighter felt than many others...
Many felt piano libraries seem to use tons and tons of felt on their pianos, almost muting the sound entirely, but this library sounds like it has a much thinner felt layer. Just enough to get that closer and softer sound, but not too much to the point that it starts killing the original qualities of the piano. Really good option for a felt piano!
While these patches offer no customizations, this piano sounds amazing right from the start. I absolutely love the sound of it, even though the quality isn't perfect and I can't say it's dynamic either. But just because of the sound it worths your attention. As a a side note, I need to mention that the Shure mic patches are not panned properly, since they mostly favor the right channel more.
