12 Oscillator Doom Drone

Feel the doom from the Colossus synth made by Analogue Solutions...

The story

The beginning of a wonderful journey with my new 12 Oscillator Colossus made by Analogue Solutions. Modulation wheel control filter cut-off, expression controls resonance. This is just the beginning!

  • Retro-like drone

I love the sound that this patch can produce. At first I pressed a very low key, like a G2, and it sounded like the original PS1 intro. If you add a lot of spacial FX it becomes even better! The addition of modwheel acting as a filter is great too. That is the only way you can somehow manipulate the sound though, because there is no GUI to host any customization settings.

  • Very simple and straight sound synth

Very fat and straight synth sound library. It should be nice to add some layer to the music. I think there is no GUI or missing? It would have been nicer with some parameters to control.

  • Phat sound from this big synth!

Not as unique as some of Christian's other libraries, as it feels like I could achieve this sound in most synths, which is odd considering this is a twelve oscillator synth. But if I was to judge the sound quality and programming alone there's nothing to complain about. I'm going to load this up with some FX and see what madness I can create.

  • Wowsers!

Yes, that certainly rattles the undies. Some of the loop points are a little off, but its an incredible sound. Doesn't break up if you play chords like you might expect, in fact the more you add the better it sounds. Fabtastic.

  • Gets The Job Done

Since acquiring this patch it has made regular appearances in the majority of my Dance tracks, perfect for the breakdown sections when you just need that warm weight in the low end. I roll of everything above 300k Adding side chain seals the deal, the most expensive sub in my entire bass collection.
