Ettienne’s Reviews

  • Pleasantly Surprised

I had to recreate a Dobro part for a cover song. This library nailed it authentically. Thanks.

  • Better than many paid piano libraries

Fantastic. Better than all the piano libraries I've bought in the past. It's clean, warm, smooth, wide, and close-sounding.

Some other piano libraries have a nasty mid-range frequency buildup when certain notes (within short intervals) are played together. Jon's piano stays amazingly clean in this regard.

For some reason, D#5 (and the notes it has been stretched to) is roughly 5dB louder than the other sampled notes. This was an easy fix - I had to lower the dB level of the eight D#5 notes inside the script of the instrument file.

It works best for ballad-type music where the soft and mid-level notes shine in a BIG WAY!

The progression from mid to loud-level notes is not as smooth because of the limited number of velocity layers. That said, I honestly do not care about this since 99% of the time, I need a soft to mid-level piano sound.

Marvelous. I would pay for a commercial version with more velocity layers.
