The story

Áferð means textures. To me, texture means stillness in movement, sequence in tranquility.

I started planning my album around this concept a few years ago, but always got stuck on the sound design.

This is meant to be a portable toolkit to experiment with, hence the very minimally recorded Oscillators and the Amp section.
On the right side of the GUI, you’ll find Swelling pads + Percussive, delayed rhythms. These are the more inspired samples, two of my patches processed through just wonderful delays and reverbs.
For the best effect, use the Layer samples without the core oscillators and with 0ms attack on the amp, add an Arp.

And this concludes my very first attempt at making samples.

By packaging this library and sending it to you, I consider the sound design done for the album.
Feel free to use it.

With love,
AS

  • With oscillator choices and everything!

This is simply an amazing synth insturment that gives you many choices for you to sit down and create some nice synth sounds. It is crafted amazingly well and it also comes with some textures to make it more unique. Super nice, highly recommended!

  • Greater than the sum of its parts

On the face of it, this shouldn't be a particularly novel or exciting instrument. It offers up four really standard analog waveforms, a low pass filter, an ADSR envelope generator which controls amplitude not the filter's cutoff and then a pad layer and a rhythmic layer. It's actually pretty generic. The weird thing is that this synth ends up allowing you to create so many really inspiring and playable sounds. It transports me from thinking "I'm playing samples of an instrument: to thinking "I'm playing an instrument." I honestly didn't expect much when I first looked at this instrument, but I have to say that after playing around with it for a while, I'm really impressed.

  • Don't read this - try it yourself

I don't know what to say. It took me some minutes to figure out which knobs I have to use to make an inspiring sound. But from there on it carried me away no idea if I can say this in English. For me who hasn't a lot of experience with synthesizers it is just a great option to experiment because it is so simplistic. And I just love the swelling and rhythmic layers! Thanks for sharing!

  • Awesome Sound

This was the first instrument that made me download decent sampler so that must mean i like it alot. The sound that comes right out of the box is somehow really inspiring for me even though im not that into synthesis and most of the time like organic sounds. I like emotional house music alot and i think this works great for that. Theres alot of control in the GUI for blending the waveforms so its fun but its alot more simple than a general synth plugin with a million parameters so that can make things easier too. Great job on this
