Stephen Power’s Reviews

  • This should be expensive!

Absolutely wonderful synth / pad instrument perfect for a project I am currently working on with a dystopian feel.

I almost feel embarrassed that I am using it for free. If there is a way to donate something for the privilege of using your wonderful instrument, please let me know. Thank you for a real gem of a find.

  • Spooky Sound that Needed a Lot of Gain

An open, warm, airy yet menacing, creepy sound ideal for a scene I'm working on.

I had to increase the channel gain to +12dB before I could hear the instrument and +15dB to make it playable. This is not uncommon though with some Kontakt instruments in Cubase, I find.

Thank you for the unusual free instrument.

  • How to Say Bodhrán

Great sample pack, and easily as good as the paid Bodhrán samples I have.

However, Bodhrán is not pronounced bo-ron (as you said in the video).

It's bow-rawn. Bow to rhyme with cow and rawn to rhyme with corn. Strech the last last syllable...bow-raawn.

  • Thank You Christian

Interesting rumbles that are vaguely reminiscent of the low level tinitus I get during an attack of Menieres disease.

I found I had to push up the instrument volume to 100% and the track pre gain in Cubase to 30db before I could get a volume loud enough to use.
