Nigel’s Reviews

  • Simply beautiful!

What a lot of work it must have taken to pull this one off - and it shows. A fantastic collaboration. I have enjoyed layering other strings with this orchestra and mapping them to the same keyboard. The only thing then is as I am using two hands on the keys I can’t access the dynamic fader! Haha. Thank you Dan and everyone who contributed to this project.

  • Have a go at analog synthesis with this intuitive instrument

At its core this is a deceptively simple instrument. It consists of three sound sources: a sampled sawtooth, a square and a triangle waveform. This is the “oscillator” section of this synthesizer. These waveforms can then be manipulated by using Kontakt’s filters, effects and modulators. This can all be done by using a very intuitive and professionally designed GUI or interface and that is what makes this instrument shine. Anyone can have fun tweaking the various controls to make their own patches or snapshots in Kontakt without having to go under the hood. Alex has provided some very useable presets to get you going and you can either tweak away with these or create your own from scratch using the useful init preset. More libraries will be added in the future and I look forward to seeing what comes next! A lot of hard work has gone into this project. Great work.

  • Fantastic samples with just a bit of tweaking needed.

Thank you so much for making this instrument available to us. I have two other harmoniums and this makes a lovely addition. The tone of the lower notes is particularly rich. I did make one or two changes in Kontakt. Firstly, the attack was to slow (at least for my taste) and I had to adjust each sample to start precisely on the note) as this was not an ADSR issue. Secondly I noticed a buzzing noise for most notes to which I added a low pass filter and increased the gain. This solved the issue. I now have a wonderful instrument tailored to my individual taste.
