Justin Trieger’s Reviews

  • Aching, Throbbing, Dying VIOLIN!

Leave it to Mark to invent entirely new articulations on an instrument that has been around for hundreds of years. What a great supplement to his previous work on Aleatory and VE 1. It's always amazing when an instrument inspires you to write for it rather than simply filling a role in a track.

  • Delightful discovery

This library was the perfect complement to orchestral arrangement I’m working on. I’m in awe that this resource is available for free - it is well recorded, easy to play and full of character!

  • Wonderful honky tonk vibe

This is a sweet little piano that is perfectly imperfect. The samples are very balanced across the keyboard. Somewhat limited in dynamics (just 1 velocity) and needs a slight attack adjustment on the ADSR envelope, but very usable and interesting!

  • As promised... quirky!

Lovely little documentation of a unique, vintage synth. Very clear layout and function. Really like the tune drift function. The knobs and slider behavior is not what I expected, having to click on the nob/fader lane at the positions desired, but works just fine.

  • A One Trick Pony That I Will Gladly Ride

This works exceptionally as a warhorn and sounds epic when you apply some saturation and reverb. I appreciate the immense number of round robins. My only gripe is that they are so unpredictable. Some of them have these nice little performance scoops in and out of the note which are very interesting. Others just sound mostly like a big fat fundamental. Still, it was a great effect on a cue for a period drama.
