An acoustic guitar-based group of instruments

The story

Hi everyone, This is a group of instruments created from my acoustic guitar, a Taylor 214ce. I’ve recorded the samples with an AKG C1000 and a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24. The idea is to use a short plucked sound of a guitar as a source for an arpeggiator/sequencer-based instrument. I’ve then processed the original sounds inside Kontakt to generate a more complex sound and give the user the possibility to control the arpeggiator parameters. I hope you like it. • Something new for me

I thought I would struggle to write a review on this one. I don't use arp's. I have loads of them on my hard drive but tend to avoid them all. I have had a little play with this one though, and susprisingley I find I quite like it. It makes some interesting sounds which I can see being useful somewhere. It's quite inspiring to play and it was starting to give me ideas on ways to use it. This is one I will come back to.

  • Guitar Meets Arpeggiator

This sample pack seems to have started life and an unassuming guitar library, but when a nuclear accident involving an arpeggiator occurred, it became forever changed. Some of the sounds here are incredibly noisy, in particular "Ostinato," but there's a lot of well recorded and inspiring presets too. This is a worthy download and something I'll reach for the next time I need a little inspiration.

  • Interesting, but difficult

An interesting sound collection for sure, however it is quite difficult to mix into a section of music. I have used it lightly for a few solo sections, where it works best on its own, if touched up with a few effects.

  • One of a kind...

It's a breath of fresh air to hear a well-designed arpeggiated instrument among many poorly designed ones. This instrument is 100% going to stand out in your mix, which may or may not be a good thing depending on what kind of sound you are looking for. Overall I enjoyed using it and would recommend giving it a test drive.

  • Worth testing it out...

The GUI design is a bit garish but there's some interesting programming here. I'm not sure how I would use this personally but if you built a track around it someone out there may love it! Good work!
