Late 50s from Kent living in South Derbyshire with a cat, several keyboards, guitars and various other hardware hangers on. Sound rather than music is what pushes my happy button and is hugely important as I battle neurological illness daily. Sounds pacify me, help me express anger, help me to relax, think and make something that I can look to as being still being productive as illness overtakes my ability to be productive. When I say sound rather than music switches me into a happy place that doesn't mean I don't do music at all. In the 90's music was everything to me before moving into broadcasting and eventually into teaching. Making music is something I would still want to do, but the condition I have now makes learning ridiculously hard and the tools I used back in the 90's Cubase, notator and so on are now hugely complex and I just find it too difficult to make progress. If only people like me could return to the easier tools of the mid 90's using current tech. It's not always not liking change that causes difficulty :- My favourite sounds come from Arturia V collection and Kontakt 6. I also like Dune 3 and Pigments 3 a lot. Organic textures that have complex change and backgrounds float my boat most often.
