Found Strings
Have you ever gone down the back of a sofa and found a tenner? Well I found some strings recorded in a hall that I'd completely forgotten about.

The story
I’m in the process of having a chuck out. In with the new, out with the old. And like with any chuck out you always stumble across relics you forgot you had. In this instance part of a sample R&D session I performed with a big bank of strings in a big hall with lots of mics. For “coverage” I got them to play some long static notes.
This is part of a series of stuff I’m putting up here. When you see the golden “Archive” versions, that’s the old stuff, the black “origins” stuff is a whole new personal sample library I’m putting together.
Here’s where you can help though. In order to create a truly workhorse set of samples built according to all the secret gems I’ve used to blag may way through a fairly successful career as a media composers I’ve started learning how to script. I’ve posted some questions in our “COMMUNITY” forum along with the script for this instrument as it stands in the vain hope you can, or someone can help and and give me guidance?
Much love.

The Future
I have not used the sample pack yet, but just watching the Youtube video confirms that it is these kind of passionate, humble innovators that continue to take us far into the future of music and cinematic production and this resource should not be ignored at all.
Sometimes Simple is Sublime
I am all for innovation and perhaps the instrument made from the death throes of a 1960's top loading washing machine works for you, but sometimes simple is sublime. Christian's Found Strings is sublime, just straight forward strings, nice long samples, no screeching harmonics, dissonant gargles or other mutilations, just wonderful strings, lovely. The strings have a very nostalgic feel, they breathe and need a little coaxing to elicit emotion but then you are richly rewarded. A definite keeper, one for the inspiration pot! Keep looking down the back of the settee please!
Simply Gorgeous
Simple Long strings, beautifully recorded with depth and presence. They have a nice bloom to them and are great for writing.
Frankly ridiculous that they're free.
