Cello Ensemble
A dynamic cello string ensemble, designed to be played with both hands and no faders.

The story
This is my Karl Meisel cello, made in Germany in the 1990s.
I played violin as a child but I only took up cello a few years ago in my 40s, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.
I scored my first feature film shortly before sampling this instrument, and it features very heavily in the soundtrack. Apart from the emotion you can capture with a real cello, the biggest revelation has been how dynamic it is compared to a sample instrument.
So I wanted to try and capture a little bit of that here.
It has 3 dynamic layers, recorded with an SE ribbon mic through a Warm Audio preamp and a Golden Age compressor.
Reviews
Inspiring low strings
An amazing work to add cello texture to cinematic composing works... More dynamic layers would be welcomed, but this free instrument is already ready to be added to high quality works! Thank you
