The story
I REALLY dislike the buying fever that follows Thanksgiving. It’s like all of commercial music making decided to sling a bunch of shit at the walls and offer their products for what they should normally be charging instead of the outrageous tolls they charge the other 51 weeks of the year. So, I decided to create something free in honor of Bl*ck Friday.
This is Black Box. After designing several instruments with overly complicated interfaces, I decided to let go and let chance have a… chance. Operating Black Box is simple. Hitting the BIG RED BUTTON randomly selects one of the over 33 sampled instruments, ranging from vintage synths to viola arpeggios, and then randomly assembles an FX chain (with random settings) for that source. Grab the modwheel or click the Black Box and give it a spin. Wheeling or mousing up will exaggerate the effects to staggering and explosive results.
Lose control. Open the Black Box. If you dare. Just be sure to save your patch if you find something you can’t let go of.
