Tonewoods Marimba

A PREPARED Marimba with glock mallets slotted between keys for a nice rattle and effect. Great for creating textures and general chaos.

The story

Another experiment while capturing audio for other forthcoming instruments. This is a Marimba One, five-octave marimba with a simple preparation of dropping glockenspiel mallets in between the keys that are struck. What you get is a nice Marimba fundamental with some metallic rattles immediately after. Can be great for sound design or creating rich textures once you start to add reverb and processing. Includes the same custom impulse response reverbs as the Tonewoods Xylophone.
