Uke Swarm

Thrift shop plastic toy uke, processed until it sounds decent

Byaudiogambero

The story

I found this beat-up plastic toy ukulele in a thrift shop for just a few euros. It has a lot of problems, mainly the nut and bridge are too high, but also the soundboard bends under the tension of the strings. I decided to challenge myself to pass some time and try to make this rejected toy sound decent. I’m really pleased with how the pads turned out.

  • Amazing

Great job, Gambero! Your vision created sophistication from a very simple instrument. I really like the swarms and the pads. This an especially usable instrument for cinematics, soundscapes and the background for anything.
