The story

For years, way back in the olden days when I was a child, I begged for a guitar for Christmas. Christmases came and went, and I never got my guitar, so I took matters in to my own hands. I found a shoe box, a paper towel tube and several large rubber bands, and made my own guitar. It fell apart within hours, but it was fun while it lasted.

A few days ago, I received an order from an online company, and low and behold, it came with a rather large rubber band. I couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by, so I took the time to string it up on a board with a couple of nails, set up my mics, and I sampled that rubber band. I was able to get one good sample before my wife got home and drowned out my rubber band with laughter.

This instrument is made from one sample, stretched over four octaves. It has controls for volume, reverb and a lowpass cutoff. Also included are controls for AHDSR. If you play with the controls, you can get some nice sounds from this Rubber Band Bass.
