The story
This instrument was originally created as a class assignment during my time as an SRT student at the Fire Station Studios. I sampled my main guitar at the time — a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Studio strung with heavy flatwound 12s. It was recorded direct (DI) through a Summit Audio TPA-200 tube preamp into a Pro Tools HD3 system. There are 4 dynamic levels and all from the neck pickup.
The tone is mellow and warm, leaning slightly jazzy due to the DI chain and flatwounds. It takes amp sims really well if you’re looking to push it further into new territory. Originally built as a MOTU Mach5 patch, this is my first DecentSampler instrument. Rebuilding it two decades later felt like a fun way to preserve and share a piece of my early creative journey. The original patch was well-received by both classmates and faculty back then — hopefully, it finds new life in your hands today.
Enjoy!

very cool indeed
I'm always on the hunt for guitar plugins and this sounds pretty much perfect to my ears. Very smooth and pleasant sound (especially in the low end), well recorded (everything sounds very even, no dead notes) and feels very natural which is hard to get right with virtual instruments. Can really see myself using this a lot. Thank you Nick!!
