Medium Format Camera
A Decent Sampler preset with samples recorded from a medium format film camera.

The story
This camera was a prop that always floated around my parents’ house since I have memories and it still works as a charm!
The Lubitel 166 Universal is a twin lens camera and it was one of the cheapest alternatives to the most sought-after Rolleiflex medium format cameras with the same construction principles.
It produces unexpectedly detailed pics for a toy-like object, thanks to its 75mm F/4.5 glass lens and effective manual controls.
It was bought by my father at a flea market in the late 80s but never put a single roll of 120 film.
Until the last months.
I always was fascinated by the pics I’ve been able to take with it and and the wonderful mechanical noises it makes when funtioning so I thought to turn a sampling session into this virtual instrument.
The sounds were recorded in a treated and insulated StudioBricks recording booth, captured with a matched pair of Warm Audio WA-14 microphones in mid/side configuration and edited for a natural, realistic sound.
As a composer for digital medias, I’m always on the hunt for inspiring samples for my productions and I hope it’ll be helpful to the music community, from music composers, sfx artists to producers passionate about weird found sound.
Have fun using this instrument and feel free to use the samples in any kind of project!
