A Peruvian pan pipe sampled with a Zoom H2n. Glockenspiel included as well.

The story

This is a set of Peruvian pan pipes I picked up at a local music store in the Brighton & Hove area, in the spring of 2019.
Authentically sampled in the bedroom of a flatshare, through a modest Zoom H2n stationed on the nightstand in front of my nice set of pipes.

A light noise reduction pass was performed while cutting the samples, the finished patch requires Kontakt 5.8.1.

That’s all, folks.
Hopefully it renders some good things under your talented fingers.

  • Well sampled, very nice flute!!

I love the sound of flute, I have many library. This library has such a deep, nostalgic kind of flute sound. I think I will be using this library often. So much for the contribution...!!

  • I was kind of looking for something like this!

The flute itself is fantastic! The sampling is awesome, there is no audible noise and the instrument plays really well along with the mod-wheel dynamics. There is no control offered other than that, but I love it the way it is. Perhaps it could use a vibrato slider and perhaps a few legato samples in the form of a wood noise. That would make it probably perfect but then I'd feel bad for not paying for it.

You can also find a cute glockenspiel which is really nice, with lots of dynamics, but still no control over anything else such as the room reverberations.
Weirdly enough, the wallpapers of those two patches don't match at all.

  • Great sound

This is a wonderful recording and very playable but would liked to have seen a reverb control on the GUI to save going under the hood.

  • Really solid sound but no reverb control

The sound of this pan flute is really solid, it sounds rich and the tone is really beautiful, the tone is limited but i believe thats because it hasn't been artificially stretched offering a more authentic representation of the instrument. I do wish there was reverb control though because its pretty wet and theres nothing you can do about this. Another thought would be to make the dynamic layers triggered by velocity instead of the mod wheel or maybe have that be an option because i think it sounds awesome playing in a short articulation like short strings. Solid overall and the vibrato is really nice although once it starts looping its very apparent that its a loop

  • Well-sampled...

Well-sampled and built. Stefingo definitely has a great ability to sample woodwinds, evidenced in both this library and several others. My only suggestion would be to add some built-in reverb on the GUI, since these types of instruments often benefit from some light reverb.
