The story
This piano has sat in a spare room at my grandma’s beach house for as long as I can remember. It has never been tuned as long as it’s been there, and over the years has drifted further into dissonance. This is a piano with a lot of unique character. It may require some encouragement to sound the way you would expect, but this is a choice I made. I wanted the sample library to be a digital “clone” of the piano. Therefore, the sample library contains all the broken, and de-tuned keys.
This piano was recorded in stereo using a Zoom H2N handy recorder. The warblyness and age of the piano gives it an almost “prepared piano” sound and it’s perfect for ragtime style.
