The story
This is the free sample library “Grand Harpsichord” made by Larry Seyer available for free download at:

This is a combination of Additive, Subtractive, and FM synthesis with added FX for each synth type.
Absolutely NOTHING in this recording is real. There is no real harpsichord in this recording. However, several synthesizers were utilized in recreating the sound and feel of a “real” harpsichord for this library.
In addition to the sound of the hammers plucking the strings, the release sound of the ‘plucks’ re-attaching themselves to the strings was synthesized.
5 different synthesizers were used to create this library. Each synthesizer was treated with its own individualized FX and mixed to create the sound you hear.
The combined output of the 5 synthesizers was then sampled into a stereo wave file and a velocity controlled filter was added via scripting for Sforzando to utilize during playback.
It requires the free Sforzando VST sample library player made by Plogue to use it.

Awesome, but...
...the release sound of the 'plucks' is very annoying if you play chords with a pedal hold (that plucky sound is heard on every pedal release). It's a pity because it makes the instrument unusable for me in several songs.
I wonder if it was possible to implement a switch to choose whether to apply this sound to the release of notes or not.
With this feature, it definitely deserves 5 stars :)
