G3 Grand (Practice)

A 1981 Yamaha G3 grand piano sampled from underneath the soundboard with a Tascam DR-05. Not for recitals, but for songwriting.

The story

The Yamaha G3 is a mid-range grand piano designed to produce a warmer tone than the famous C series.

This piano shares a common story with my family. It’s dramatic story for me and my family, but probably not for other people.

As a child, I hated practicing piano, so instead I played every chord and melody I could think of on this instrument. Now you can do the same thing I did back then.

Due to limited equipment, the sound quality is dull and “amateur grade,” but I think it’s still practical for the purpose of getting ideas.

~~~~~~~~~~
Velocity layers are included.
3 levels for normal playing
2 levels for una corda
Since this is intended for composing, I have deliberately recorded a wide range of sounds from pp to ff.
There is also a function that uses IR when striking the piano to emulate roughly the reverberation when the damper pedal is pressed.
