A sampled ukulele

Bysebo

The story

Hi! I’m Seb, and I recently got logic pro. I love it, and sampling was something that I was looking forward to, as I have been following Spitfire Audio and Christian Henson for a while now. I then sampled my ukulele, and decided to post it here, on the pianobook website. I love all of the free instruments here, so I felt it was only right to give back to the pianobook community.

Enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Great tone but so noisy

Ive said before as a guitar player im not really into these kinds of libraries because i think its almost impossible to capture the nuance of playing guitar in a sample instrument. With that said i think the tone of this instrument is really nice and has a nice plucky sound that is really realistic. It doesn't seem like there are any round robins here which leaves it feeling a bit robotic. The more round robins and dynamic layers the better with instruments like this. Also as said by others its extremely noisy which creates alot of issues especially once you get to the mixing and mastering stage and everything gets brighter and more hyped. Still, for a first attempt its really good

  • A very good effort for a ukulele library!

This is an instrument that has a lot of character, but agree with others about the opportunity for noise reduction. Throwing a tonne of reverb on the instrument is very playable, but the sustain pedal and reverb combo really brings out the excess noise. Otherwise, there's a lot of character here! Great effort!

  • Cute but could shine with noise reduction

If you are looking for a uke sound, this might work if you treat it well. There are some little yet distinct white noise that can be heard, so you need to keep that in mind. It builds really quickly once you use the sustain pedal for a more "arpeggiating" playstyle, which is fairly typical for such an instrument, so for a non lo-fi scenario you need to consider some noise reduction treatment.
