Norse Canvas – Textures Idio/Lithophones
Idiophones + Lithophones combined into one package. Prepared and mangled into little sonic soundscapes.
The story
I slapped a contact mic onto a weird kalimba I found, plucking it so hard the mic distorted on its own, and ended up with this wild, crispy cyber-pluck. While traveling, I started collecting stones to build a makeshift lithophone (epic custom stone, unique in shape), which actually turned out surprisingly playable, and then layered in some cowbells, because honestly, you can never have enough cowbell.
The library features:
– combinations (tuned / for layering)
– sculpted (slightly processed)
– fractured (heavily processed)
There are 3 main designed patches:
– designed (main)
– tuned (+12 semitones)
– soft attack (soft/intimate)
You could play the combinations with the sculpted sounds to create a cinematic trio.
[!] Modwheel controls the low-pass filter.
