Roland EP-09 MK2

Roland EP-09 electronic piano, a weirdly charming 1980's analog keyboard that sounds absolutely nothing like a real piano, but it has quirky lo-fi bleeps and a cool arpeggiator.

The story

I was at my friend’s house loading unnecessary amounts of heavy gear into his van for a gig on an army base when I spotted this old-looking keyboard in the corner. He told me it was a some old keyboard of his fiancee’s that’s she’s had for ages.

So I decided to take it home, have a play, and try to take a snapshot of this synth I had never heard of before.

This instrument features the original sounds and a control set inspired by the original unit, but updated to make it more usable and expand upon what the original could do.

This is my first instrument made for Kontakt and created with the intention of making a playable instrument rather than just a set of custom samples for a project.

Hope you enjoy,
