Antz

Antz is a selection of woozy lo-fi synths for Decent Sampler. Recorded through guitar pedals and a 4-track cassette for some extra grit.

The story

Initially making sample instruments was a way to make my sessions more portable and self contained. If I designed a synth sound that involved some external effects I would sample it to be able to recall it in other sessions.

Antz is ten presets built by running analog synths through guitar pedals and a four track cassette machine. Lo-fi. Cinematic. A little broken. I programmed all the presets from scratch using my Novation Summit and a Moog Sub 37.

I gave the beta out to a few composer friends and many of these sounds have already landed in film and TV projects the world over.

They run in the Decent Sampler format. I have also included the .sfz files so you can load the presets into other synths such as Serum 2.

This is my first public sample instrument creation. All feedback welcome.
