Animal Pads

Atmospheric drones made of animal sounds.

The story

Animal Pads was born out of curiosity and experimentation rather than necessity. After discovering that EQ can transform almost any sound into a playable instrument, I began exploring unusual sound sources. Eventually, I wondered: could animal sounds be turned into musical instruments?

After a few experiments, I chose four animals: dog, frog, pig, and sheep. Each recording was reshaped with long reverb tails and harmonic EQ boosts until it evolved into a playable pad texture.
At the heart of the instrument is an XY controller, allowing you to blend these animal voices together in new ways, creating organic movement and evolving atmospheres.

The animal recordings used in this instrument come from freesound.org.
