Kenari Chimes

This is a simple library for an Indonesian instrument called "kenari chimes." It's essentially a mark tree made out of seed shells.

The story

Here’s a simple Kontakt library I created for an instrument that I’m not sure has previously been sampled before. Kenari Chimes are a traditional Indonesian musical instrument made from Kenari tree seeds, and strewn through a series of strings, to produce an instrument functionally similar to that of a mark tree. They produce a soft, mellow, earthy tone, that should be good for new age, soundtrack writing, or even lo-fi beats.

What I put together here has two main patches, one with 70 “short,” one-shot recordings of the chimes, and another with 14 infinitely looping recordings of the chimes, that you can use for longer, sustained playing. Also included are 20 “With Effects” patches, that process the samples through Kontakt’s onboard effects options.
