Scholze Upright Piano
An old upright piano recorded with Zoom H4
The story
I had the idea to record the piano a while ago but I had no way to do it because I didn’t have a portable recorder and until then I had been recording my instruments through a cheaper USB microphone connected to my computer until I bought a Zoom H4 from my friend. And that’s when I decided to record our old piano that we have at home.
Reviews
Has some taste
It has some character to it, but it has a lot of problems too. Some of the lower notes sound like they have been artificially tuned and not actually recorded, and the keys have a weird panning where some notes will be on the left and others on the same octave will be on the right, this is not that noticeable in the upper range, in fact i would say it sounds pretty unique (in a good way) in the upper range. My final thoughts are: if youre looking for a good normal piano library, this should not be your go to, but if you want to experiment then this could be pretty interesting for you.
