The story
I needed some big rubber bands one day. Noticed a suitable wood box I was in need of for my studio on the same trip to the store. Of course the kid in me raised his head and said these need to be combined. So it’s a box with a rubber band around it.
I recorded different plucks of the “string” then expanded them with some sound design tricks to have a chromatic range. Some are bass oriented, some work better in the higher register. I decided to record the actual box itself as a percussive instrument. I used a cajon snare block to get a snare sound out of it.
I also created some designed instruments from the source material to accompany the “natural” sounds.

Utterly brilliant.
Just goes to show you're only limited by your imagination and ingenuity. First we start with variations on one of the coolest Alt Bass/Guitar sounds I've heard in a long time. The GUI is a brilliant and perfectly judged - exactly the sort of effects I would have been reaching for anyway. Then we move on to a plentitude of no fewer than 9 perfectly executed lessons in sound design which cover a breathtaking range of textures and genres. In a world of "samey" this is so refreshing. Followed, can't wait to see what's next.
This is so great, it's going to make you feel inadequate
This is such a fun cool library. It is organic, it's perfectly recorded, edited, and programmed. It's immediately playable. It's got character, it's a whole bunch of different sounds, and it's a rubber band stretched around a box. Super interface, thank you for not drenching it in reverb, but thank you for providing it. I have no choice but to admit my own inadequacy as a samplist and simply give this library 5 stars for everything!!! Amazing and awesome work!
The most fun you can have with a box.. and a rubber band.. and a huge amount of work
Wow, amazing instrument! Just the huge collection of presets alone makes this an instant keeper. I was planning to use this more as a soft plucks, maybe paired with a guitar or string section, but this instrument takes the attention and is a lot more aggressive than I expected. Right away I paused on the project I was working on and wrote a little upbeat electronic song. This instrument can fuel creativity for sure, and not just with the basic pluck presets. 8 widely different pluck sounds and then 8 more pads and sound design presets that I'm having so much playing with. I'm adding the percussion preset into my electronic song because what's better than a rubber band melody? More rubber bands.
