Global Swarm Community Sample Pack

What is it?

In Winter 2020, we came together as a community to build a sample pack out of 400 of your voices. This year we’re changing the scope to a Swarm Library. We want you to record yourself playing in C at a slow, medium, and fast tremolo. We’re then going to build a sample pack out of all of your samples and upload it to Pianobook for free with an optional Pay-What-You-Want to our Just Giving charity page for DEC’s Ukraine appeal.

The competitions launches on 4th April 2022 and runs until 1st May 2022 (midnight BST). Submissions made after the deadline might still be included in the project but will not be included in the competition.

How do I take part?

1. Find an instrument, a found sound, or a satisfying piece of junk and create a tremolo or repeated pattern. Aim to play for exactly 10 seconds, this will help us with the edit.

2. Record yourself with the best audio equipment you have, and we really encourage you to film yourself as well!

3. Pitch your instrument or sound either before or in post-production, to the pitch of C (it doesn’t matter what octave), we’ll sort that out later, but it needs to be C!

3. Upload your combined audio and video file to YouTube with the tag #GlobalSwarm

4. Post your clip to our Discord channel #Global-Swarm-Submissions so we definitely don’t miss it! You can submit multiple as many instruments and octaves as you like, they just all have to be In C.

Now the important bit… Prizes!
