Tape Delay Experiment

Tape Delay Experiment

What happens when you run a Schimmel piano through a Portastudio, an Echo Fix Tape Echo and an Oto BAM? With some clever maths to line up delay times when shifting pitch, Christian and the team created this inspiring set of samples. Find out more in the video below.

Love this instrument! The 4 separate signals offers a lot scope to try various ideas out. The Portastudio sound is so nice and helpful having a ‘dry’ version to possibly mix with the others. The Echo Fix had me doing some maths of different ways to make the delays fit into a tempo and time signature. The Modular signal is more far out but will fit perfectly in places I’m sure. But the other signal with the reverb (can’t remember it’s name) is my favorite – it’s just sublime! Enjoy
