Sine + Delays
Take the simplest sound available – a sine wave – and apply a delay.
I used various delay plugins, exploring the different colors and characters and with various degrees of artifacts (saturation, wow and flutter etc). Additional controls (ADSR envelope, filters, effects) are added to the GUI for further tweaking.

I made a demo of Francesco’s ‘Sine + Delays’ before I’d even had a chance to try out any of the presets. I was on the lookout for a sound to replace a pad in a demo I’d already done about a day’s work on. On reflection, the one I’d recorded was too static and no amount of effects was going to help. I downloaded ‘Sine + Delays’ based entirely on the sound of it in the Piano Drop video that highlighted it and the first preset I loaded, ‘ValhallaDelay BBD 1.75s Feedback’, provided exactly the kind of movement I was looking for to replace that static pad. After completing my first demo, I began to dig deeper and created a second exclusively featuring ‘Sine + Delays’, along with a few of my favourite plugins. I deliberately didn’t tweak any of the presets – even though Francesco provides plenty of opportunities to do just this – because I wanted to create something as spontaneously inspired by the ‘raw’ sounds as possible. I know from the You Tube comments that many of you already agree Francesco has contributed another fine instrument with virtually limitless possibilities. Check it out for yourselves.
