Rättvik Upright

Rättvik Upright

A quick and dirty holiday sampling of an old upright piano, manufactured by Skandinaviska Pianofabriken. Currently housed at our family farm just outside of Rättvik, a small village in the heart of Sweden.

The instrument requires the full version of Kontakt 5.8.1.

If you cannot afford or don’t have the space to get a physcial practice upright piano, this is very close to the real thing. Perfectly recorded. One of my favourite uprights on Pianobook so far.

OK so it may not be fancy, glamourous looking or technically perfect, but what I can say is that I really like the sound of this instrument. You nailed the recording part of the piano and it sounds really good!

This sounds exactly like you expect an upright piano living in the corner of someone’s lesser used room would sound.
It’s not a complicated instrument, no fancy scripting that I can detect, although the script is locked so it’s not possible to make any adjustments there, with the single velocity layer. and only a few notes seemingly having additional round-robins. Layout is for standard 88 note keyboard.
Unfortunately, the wallpaper image seems to have been renamed on the compressed file and doesn’t display. This can be remedied by renaming the wallpaper image to RättvikArt.png – if you’re that way inclined.
