The story

I used up a plastic bottle of vinegar, and thought the bottle might make an interesting sound, and it sort of does. So I sampled it.

There are two hits; one with finger meat, the other with fingernail. Then there is a electric keys type of sound I made using a hit sample with the Tone Machine in Kontakt. Also there is a cymbalish sound, or sound effect, made from a breath I made in the recording while sampling.

I have to say, the key’s sound isn’t all that spectacular by itself, but I layered the keys sound and the dull hit with a nice grand piano, and the vinegar sounds really make the magic happen. Give that a try, see what you think.

  • Great Sound, Made From A Vinegar Bottle!

It never ceases to amaze me. The creativity and genius of the Pianobook community. Who would've ever thought of taking a plastic bottle of vinegar and turning it into an instrument? The sound of this is incredible. It has an 80's synth feel to it. Layer it with strings or piano for some interesting textures. Enjoy!

  • Unexpected sound - unique hitting texture!

Never imagined the sound from the title!! It has a nice tube kind of sound with nice amount of ambience.

  • Cool plucky sounds and keys!

This library contains four patches and a multi. I found them all to be well recorded, well edited within Kontakt, and very playable. I wasn't a huge fan of the Breath Cymbal FX, but the other three were really fun, useful plucky sounds. The multi is also great. In his laster instruments, Clay started providing an easy way to disable the reverb in the GUI, but these instruments require you to dig into Kontakt. It's great that the sounds weren't recorded with reverb, however, so it's easy to eliminate it if that's what you prefer. A worthy download!

  • Very Creative

I feel like this sample maker always makes such creative instruments. Even if i dont like some of them, i always respect the sound design. There are three patches and a multi. I dont really love any of these instruments but i liked the keys the best. It has an interesting tone and the sound itself has a bit of modulation or something going on so its pretty interesting. I dont really like the cymbal much. The sharp hit i acctually find to be pretty good with some high taken out. Again while i dont personally like this instrument much the sound design is always so interesting.

  • It's alright I guess

4 instrument patches, and one multi. Let's go.

The Sharp Hit is sharp, but the ambient release stops suddenly. It is also not dynamic at all, and the high register sound pretty much like a woodblock does. Same does the Dull Hit patch but that sounds like a woodblock even in the lower ones.

The Cymbal is weird but interesting in a way. It's just the same one sample stretched across the keyboard. I do think its tail is very short though, especially for a "cymbal".

The E-Keys was the most interesting patch for me, since it reminds me something like an analog synth. Unfortunately there are no controls at all, so that's the only sounds you can get. The multi is just a combination, which doesn't do much for me.
