The story

Taken from the source material of the ‘Hunsicker Helpenstill’ my collaborator Matt Lowery made magic with his pedalboard introducing our samples to his different ‘bits & bobs’ to create this beautiful pad.
We hope you enjoy it.

Thanks to Angus Roberts-Carey for turning this into a Kontakt Instrument

  • Modulated Goodness

This is a really interesting pad. The GUI looks great and the controls are clear and nice. Even with depth turned all the way down it still has some nice modulation going on but you can make this even more pronounced if you start to turn this is. Like a-lot of pads on pianobook it has a slight choral effect to it which sounds really cool. No complaints about this instrument. The lowpass filter sounds great too. Im not head over heels for it, there are many pads i would reach for on pianobook before this one but its still a great instrument and if you want something modulated and more chaotic than your usual chill dreamy pad than give this a try

  • Could be perfect with a few tweaks!

While this instrument offers a very nice ambient texture that can fit in a lot of cues and mixes, it gets held back by a few things that can be hard to deal with.

First is that the sounds are very wet and the release setting might seem too high for many. Next, while the ambience is super nice, it seems that the main sounds are panned mostly to the left, and that make things very unbalanced.

The GUI is beautiful and offers enough options to play around, but unfortunately they won't fix the two aforementioned issues. The "main" hits that you might notice are also not tempo synced, but I'm sure this is meant to be more of an ambient patch, rather than a rhythmic one.

  • There are good and bad things about this

It's inspiring, it sounds great, and it's fun to play. On the down side, there's a lot of noise in the samples The samples were created with a long attack so you can't easily shorten it up. Finally, the samples were recorded with quite a bit of reverb. You can actually remove a bunch of reverb by bypassing the effects within kontakt, but that doesn't change the fact that the samples have it permanently applied. None of these complaints stop this from being a highly playable and inspiring instrument, but at the same time, it could have been even better and more magical. Even so, it's a worthy download to be sure.

  • Swarm pads

For a moment, the sounds in this pack reminded me of Swarm series by Spitfire Audio. The type of content itself is interesting, although there are a few things I would change. Overall, the GUI looks good, but I would have really appreciated an attack control. I think this pack has potential.

  • I'd really like to see a "V2.0" of this

tbh this didn't grab me, but I think with some tweaks it could be great. I didn't care for the GUI...the knobs are hard to control and I don't even get what some of them are ("splosh?" ?). How about a simple ASDR envelope and a reverb control? It has real possibilities though.
