The story
These Large Wind Chimes have been at my parents house for a long time.
There’s five bells, tuned to a warm pentatonic scale originally just beyond the scope of A = 440Hz. I recorded them through an AKG C414, Shure SM57, and AKG P170 pair — each going into a Behringer U-PHORIA UMC404HD interface. The have been re-tuned in Kontakt, but I left the original pitches in the Samples folder.
It’s a little noisier this way (perhaps this is a good thing), but I love them the most when sustaining each note for a long period of time, as the real bells would do themselves. Of course, I kept the release time fairly low should you want a little more vanilla control over the duration of the notes.
Likewise, the zones have been mapped fully across the range of an 88-Key MIDI controller, so one may play any note, however for those who wish to maintain the spirit of the original instrument a Bb pentatonic centered at middle-C will do well. Those with an adventurous soul must consider using this extended key range for thunderous carillon tones at the bottom register, and sweet worldly glockenspiel sprinkles above.

Very pleasant sound
I just like the character and sound. Came in useful!
Nice sound, especially lower register
Very interesting! Lower register has a big bell sound which gives a cinematic texture. I like the sound of this wind chimes!
A standard bell sound...
Relatively well recorded and put together. Nothing particularly stands out about this instrument, but it does have a sound that may be useful to some. GUI is clean and simple to use.
Could have used some round robins
While its really awesome that this instrument has also many dynamic layers, i would have been happier with half the dynamic layers for a few round robins. Particularly on resonant bell instruments like this, i find round robins to be so important because the sound of different hits changes more drastically on an instrument like then on a piano. There are a few wind chime libraries on pianobook i feel have more character and inspire me more but this is still a great instrument. I think we all love wind chimes.
Great Bell Sound
Not too bad of a sound here. It actually has a nice childlike quality. The sound also has a little bit of character to it. Throw a flanger or chorus on this and you're golden! Enjoy!
