The story

A gorgeous upright piano situated in the chapel corner of a Later Day Saint meeting house. I grew up tinkering on this piano before church began on a Sunday. I would always play it with the felt dampening it to keep the noise down, I soon became addicted to its unique sound, having never played a felt piano before. Begrudgingly I left it behind when I moved to University, visiting it on the holidays until I discovered the world of sampling. Finally, I could take it with me without stealing the piano! After weeks, and months of work this was my baby, and I’ve been keeping it to myself for far too long. It’s not perfect, but that’s all part of the charm!

  • Organic piano

This library has a bit of noise on release as well as an atmospheric quality like you are away from the piano and eavesdropping, but I quite like it that way as it gives a rainy day vibe to the instrument. The GUI is kind of plain but functional. Overall a nice character piano.

  • Has both good and bad points

This piano has some very good elements, and some problems that you mind find a little annoying.

The good part is that honestly the character of the piano is very romantic and almost cinematic sounding. It is simply lovely and it can work well in many scenarios. It sounds dynamic at first but the two velocity layers can be obvious in the lower registers. You might also notice a small clicky noise right on the attack. With the sustain pedal on, you might start listening to noises as if it had a rain texture on.

I also feel that this piano is best at slower and more romantic themes instead of fast and big sounding. The Roomy Hall slider sometimes adds up some fundamental frequencies that might need some attention when mixing, so I'd recommend adding some EQ to balance things out and get the best out of it!

  • beautiful tone but not that dynamic

I really love the tone of this piano. I usually prefer darker more rich sounding felt pianos and find traditional pianos bright and boring. It doesn't sound like this has been felted but the character is rich, warm and cinematic which i think is really unique and i love. I was surprised to see that theres only two velocity layers considering this is a relatively large download size. Dynamics are so important to me in piano libraries and even though i love the sound of this piano, only having two dynamic layers really limits its usability for me. I would love to see a more deeply sampled version in the future cause i really love the tone you captured here.

  • Great sounding piano, but needs tweaks

This piano library is rich and full sounding. The tonal balance on this instrument is really great, and it was expertly recorded. Almost every key is sampled with two velocity layers. The trouble with this library is that there's a lot of space at the beginning of many of the samples, and so even with a perfectly quantized track, the timing ends up sounding pretty loose. There's between 15-60 ms of space at the beginning of almost every note, so the response is pretty uneven and unpredictable unless or until you tweak all of the samples in the wave editor. Even so, it was worth the effort to me because it is a great sounding piano.

  • Beautiful but Glitchy

One of the best sounding pianos on the site but very glitchy. Its not very playable but for very slow pieces you can get a rich and very upfront sound.
