The story
I swear, I must have been a drummer in another life because I’m an incessant “tapper”. I seem to “tap” everything I touch and as I google what incessant finger tapping can mean I learn that it could be a sign of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or an anxiety issue – yay for me!
The other day, I discovered that even taking out the garbage can lead to making music. As I walked from the kitchen to the garage tapping on my empty coffee can I noted that the can provided a beautiful mid-range tone when tapped. The tone reminded me of my world music studies and the more I thought of the sounds I heard when studying Indonesian music – so I looked it up and found: “Gamelan is the traditional ensemble music of the Javanese, Sundanese, and Balinese peoples of Indonesia, made up predominantly of percussive instruments. The most common instruments used are metallophones played by mallets and a set of hand-played drums called kendhang which register the beat”
And there you go – my “COFFEE CAN GAMELAN METALLOPHONE” was born.
I quite like the sound and hope you do too…

Great and usable sounds
Love this library! There's excellent inspiration to be found here! These sounds are playable, musical, well recorded, and well edited. Such a fun and useful library. I especially love that there's an easy way to kill the reverb in the GUI. Well done!
Interesting Resonance
These Coffee Can hits has a really interesting dead, thuddy resonance that i think sounds really great. Its very organic sounding. This library would benefit alot from dynamic layers and round robins though as these types of found sound percussion hits produce different tones and pitches depending on how you hit them. It would make things alot more interesting. Although the GUI is simple, i like how the reverb knob truly turns the reverb off instead of just lessening it. This overall is an interesting, organic and useful library. Im just left wishing it was just a little bit more deeply sampled
Unexpectedly good for a coffee can!
This is lovely bundle that features an almost retro-sounding pluck-like synth sound, which is nice, though I can listen some weird wavy noises after the initial attack of some notes. The percussion patches are very cool though, and I find them really nice to play on. Though there are no dynamics or round robins, they have a drum-machine kind of sound to them, which can match really well with electronic productions.
The GUI offers just a Reverb knob that will add a little bit of room ambience. It's also weird that there is a Kontakt patch available though it is not labeled at the thumbnail while browsing, just saying.
