Have made a 5.8 version of Pianodrop #37 “AM Static Voices” inside the Photosynthesis engine

Please let me know if you have any issues

The long method, which you may know, is to download the Kontakt instrument and it should contain a folder containing all the samples which you can then import into EXS24 etc

As for the short method … hopefully your wish will come true.

    Hi Guys

    1. The error reported at post #522972 is still present.

After making a post I get this …

There has been a critical error on your website.

Learn more about debugging in WordPress.”

It posts the reply though it doesnt take you to that post to show it.

Using Chrome Version 87 in Windows 10

    2. The “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” is not working for me.

    Hi Tom/Lora

I think my answer will help both. As far as I know:

    1. Only files that can utilise the Free Kontakt Player without the 15 minute timeout (ie a licence fee was paid by the originator of the library to NI)
can use the Library Section. That said check out on YouTube as I believe there are some workarounds so it is possible but see 2 below first.

    2. To access quickly I load my Pianobook Instruments in Quickload (CTRL+F) and find that is fine.

    HTH?

    Thanks Kurt

Sorry for the late reply but despite having ticked the “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” box I didn’t receive anything.

I recently did a mic blind test on Audio Kitchen with my own mics:

    Audio Technica AT2020 ($99)

    Rode NT1A ($180)

    Sure SM 58 (basically a SM 57 with a screw on shield) – $99

    … against a Nueman UA 47 fet ($4000)

My blind test favourite was the AT2020 🙂

To be honest for sampling modern smart phone mics are very good.

A Zoom H2N ($160) gives you the chance to field record with various mic set ups then connect directly to your PC to download your work.

The SM 57/58 as others have said is a great workhorse mic.

Sorry about the multiple posts – I was told there was an error and I thought it was to do with the link.

Doesn’t sound dull to me Sarah.

Would removing the lid of the piano help ?

Sampling is a lot about experimenting so my advice is give it a try.

As for getting the best sound – the advice I always remember is get somebody to play what you want to sample and move around until your ears find the best sound then stick the mics there.

I look forward to hearing your instrument in the future.

    Regards

Hi Dreams. Thanks for your interest. If you check my website in about 2-3 weeks you will have the latest album which contains a lot of Pianobook instruments. http://www.season3.co.uk

what is Komplete? As I understand Komplete contains a lot of instruments and some libraries and includes Kontakt as well – correct? If so why would I need Komplete, would Kontakt not be enough for me? Will I regret I didn’t buy a Komplete package?

Hi Dreams You have answered your own question about what Komplete is. To be honest I bought it with the Native Instruments S61 keyboard for a steller price. That said I do use several of the instruments.

I too use Cubase and you may decide that the Virtual Instruments that Steinberg provide added to the full version of Kontakt meets all your needs so you dont need Komplete.

Having the full Kontakt though just opens up a new world of sounds and my latest album which is being mastered has so many instruments from this collection here on Pianobook.

Dreams. Another vote for Komplete but I would also sign up for Native Instruments newsletter as you will be notified of offers. I once saw the full version of Kontakt for $99 in a flash sale.

    Hi Andrew.

I tried to replicate Neb’s issue but a 5 voice Pianolith loaded fine in Kontakt 6.3

Plus 1 for Neb’s suggestion of solo button and high pass – though I know that’s quite a bit of work.
