    Well, the title says it all. I’ve been interested in sampling and have wanted to give it a shot myself, but I have access to neither to neither the full version of Kontakt nor the logic sampler. I did recently get DecentSampler, but I haven’t the faintest how I would get started on making a sample library for that. If there’s anyone who could explain this to me, that’d be fantastic!

    Assuming you already know how to create the sound files, once you have that ready you can manually write the .dspresset or use a tool like this one:

    Decent Sampler Helper Tool


    The .dspresset is an XML file, so it can be created/modified easily, and you can open an existing instrument with your favorite text editor to see how it’s done.

    Thanks, fellas! Finished a small sample library yesterday, and submitted it to Pianobook!
