I wanted to share a really interesting concept behind Percussion sampling that I couldn’t find anywhere else and I’ve never seen applied in any libraries (Commercial or not).
It is taken from Junkie XL who created his own personal libraries mapping different dynamics across the whole keyboard instead of using velocity layers and, as you can see in the video, it’s much easier and faster for the composer than mapping velocities.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think we can create percussion libraries that works like this?
Maybe this concept can be used for other kind of instruments (I’m thinking about instruments that doesn’t have a big extension)
